Shilpa qualified from the University of Birmingham in 2010. She then successfully graduated her Diploma of the membership of the Joint Dental Faculties at the Royal college of Surgeons of England. Followed by a Masters degree in Fixed and Removable Prosthodontics at the University of Manchester.
Since graduation she has worked in a range of hospitals across Birmingham and Manchester as an oral surgery and maxillofacial senior house officer, broadening her experience in complex oral surgery, dental emergencies and head and neck trauma.
She has continued postgraduate training within community and dental hospitals across a range of specialties including special care, oral surgery and paediatric dentistry. Followed by 18 months of Restorative dentistry working closely with a range of consultants in Manchester Dental Hospital and publishing two articles in UK dental journals. She currently works at Manchester Dental Hospital within the Restorative department treating anxious patients and those with complex needs, alongside training newly qualified dentists in the provision of dental sedation.
Shilpa is passionate about patient education and the prevention of oral diseases, offering a range of treatments with a conservative approach. Her special interest lies in the management of dental anxiety and treatment under sedation in addition to the management of temporomandibular (jaw joint) disorders.
Shilpa has lended her skills in anxiety management to develop a well known and now established sedation service for adults and children across the North west of England – 'Dental Sedation Solutions’ which accepts dental treatment for highly anxious and phobic individuals.

Outside of work Shilpa is a keen scuba diver. She has a passion for wildlife, travelling and photography.
